Dengue (pronounced DENgee) fever is painful mosquito borne disease transmitted by Aedes aegypti/ Aedes albopictus mosquito bite. A new person (person 2) become infected if they bitten by a mosquito that carry the virus after it bites a person (person 1) with dengue virus in their blood. There is no vaccines to cure dengue fever. When infected, early recognition and prompt supportive treatment is needed to lower the risk of medical complications and death.

 

An estimated 390 million dengue infection occur each year. Indonesia, which is the second country with the most dengue fever cases after Brazil has 149,235 cases per year. Since Indonesia is a developing country, it is lacking in the quantity and quality of healthcare resource, especially in remote area. X Unit is created to response the problem.

 

X Unit is a mobile treatment unit with a foldable ‘X’ bracing system. The lightweight and foldable unit oriented for easy installation, transportation, and economical purpose. X Unit is flexible to arrange depend on the need. Furthermore, it can be located everywhere and relocated is possible. With X Unit we believe the infected patient could get the first care they need and recover.
