The new UIHC hospital (UIHC Tower 2) located at the center of University of Iowa’s master plan to incorporate the hospital system with the rest of the campus though designed greenway and healing gardens. The hospital will functioned as the circulation hub for the UIHC system. Located in between the main UIHC hospital and the parking facility, the building will connect the two buildings. The sifting floor, which is the second floor, designed to get more sunlight and become a sun shading for the below floor. Moreover, it also become the building icon to differentiate from the UI Children’s Hospital across the building.
