Breathe wellness center is proposed in the strategic location on Main Streetin downtown. The site provided is originally a garden that act as a shortcut from MainStreet to the parking lots. This artificially landscaped space allows public to go acrossthe long loft of commercial retails space. In order to maintain the greenery elementsof the original site, natural elements such as fresh air, plants and sunlight are embodiedrichly in our design. The idea of “breathe” amplifies the importance of respirationassociated with physical and mental health.  Tree as a metaphor for nature elements aredescribed as the main body of the building. Basement is assimilated as roots, thefundamental and invisible part functions as restroom and changing area; the tree trunk,building core serves as the main entrance and information area; while the lively, richbranches and leaves symbolizes programs variedness  such as thermal bath, yoga studioand massage room. The manipulation of doubled height volume, segregation of spacesand exterior openings allow the access to moving air and sunlight. In term of the materialselection and color scheme considerations, Japanese contemporary elements with whiteand soft color wood are fused into the overall design concept to emanate the simplicityand purity. The interplay of the soft color and natural element can evoke the relaxed andpeaceful sensation in the Spa Center undeniably.
